Tonight I read the obituary of the late Brian Pickup, former President of the Society, in the Yorkshire Evening Post. Brian was a good friend of the Society and its Museum so I thought a photo of Leeds 345, one of his beloved Leeds trams would be fitting. Brian lived close to me in Leeds and the Beeston Mafia (as many refer to members from this part of Leeds)is one person down in its membership. He had many memories of life in Leeds including our school and the trams. He will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear this. As a relatively new member of the society I am always interested to hear about the early days of Crich. Brian was a great source of such information and a familiar character at the museum. He will be missed by many.

In the discussion following Brian's funeral on Friday I was reminded that he had made a recording for the BBC archive. I have looked it up and the link follows.
