Hello,

to start the photographs section here is a picture with a mystery:

Image

The picture was taken on 22 October 2002. Two things are unusual about this photograph. Which? A hint: You have know our fleet very well and even small details to spot one irregularity.

Have fun!

Kind regards

Christoph

Other than the fact I think I was Crich that day (it was the first time I went on 7!), is it that 3006 has a different panto?

I have a lovely pic of 902 and 3006 next to each other at CTE, and they have identical pantos, and different to this one!

Also, the Derby Ass. Rooms are still being "built", and BOTH trams appear to be running wrong line - 3006 heading DOWN on the UP line, and 7 the opposite!

Am I right?!?!

Are you referring to this picture: http://www.transportcentre.co.uk/upload ... 3006-1.jpg ?

No. It's not the pantograph.

Even if you were, I would not give it away yet, but wait for further users to register and participate. Who do you know who might be interested, who you could invite to join to kick-start the forum?

Kind regards

Yes it is that picture - how did you guess!?!?!?

Oh... i'll keep guessing. Where to advertise? I'll add a link at TrainSpotWorld, but you'll have to do Wikipedia as I quite today after various disputes.

Thanks,

Hello,

the forum is intended for TMS members rather than the general public. Any idea into that direction?

I know!!

I've spotted both irregularities!

1) Trams are terminating outside the Red Lion and 7 is preparing to depart North on the Southbound track whilst 3006 heads south on the Northbound track. This'll be because of the building of the Bank and the Burnley Tramways Offices

2) Berlin 3006 is showing destination No.84 rather than its usual No.60

This will get you 100 out of 100 points! You are perfectly right. 7 is running wrong line, 3006 headed south on the northbound track and is now parked there and it is on route 84 rather than route 60. Anyone who can tell me either...

a) Where those route numbers came from (the picture is real, no digital edit)
or
b) Where they are now

...will get bonus points.

By the way: I think it is quite a shame that a situation like this would cause a major chaos nowadays, as the depot crossover can not be used as necessary for that operation at present.

Kind regards

There was a rather entertaining operation one enthusiast day recently when the foreign cars had an hour or so of 'conteniental' running along the street track running wrong line Town End to Depot where you crossed the border onto British trams running as normal from there to Glory Mine.
